Thruport Technologies Acquires Award Winning HotOffice.com

Leading Software Development Firm Purchases HotOffice

Alexandria, VA, September 24 -- Thruport Technologies, a world leader in internet development and deployment tools, has acquired the award-winning HotOffice groupware solution. Financial terms of the private deal have not been disclosed. Thruport plans to launch an enhanced version of Thruport's HotOffice in early fourth quarter of 2001, with enhancements the company has developed over the last quarter.

HotOffice.com, Inc. invested nearly $50 million on the HotOffice solution, creating the ideal workplace for small business--especially those with collaboration needs, multiple offices, mobile workers, telecommuters and dispersed workgroups. The solution came to be recognized as the best available groupware solution. It was named "Editor's Choice" by PC Magazine in 1998, 1999, and 2000. HotOffice was also recognized by PC Computing Magazine in 1999 for providing "Top business technology services," and received the 2000 PC World W orld Class Award in 2000.
